Getting started

The Sony a6400 has many parts, including:

B) Shutter button
The shutter button is used to capture an image.

C) Viewfinder
The viewfinder can be used to preview the camera’s field of view.

D) Touch display
The LCD display screen can be operated with the manual display controls or by touch. The display screen can be extended and flipped above the camera body to preview video while a user records.

E) Display controls
The display controls are used to interact with the camera display.

F) Access panel
The camera’s access panel can be opened to insert cables, connectors, and attachments. This is where the power cable, HDMI adapter, and external microphones like the Rode GO mic are attached.
